In aquaculture, the accumulation of organic load presents significant challenges that can adversely affect the health and productivity of shrimp and prawn cultures. Common contributors to this organic load include unutilized feed, excessive feeding practices, fecal matter, moulted exoskeletons, and dead algae. These materials are rich in protein and carbohydrates, and when they settle at the bottom of the pond, they lead to a range of detrimental effects.
